POSITION OVERVIEW

Originates, manages, and supervises a portfolio of commercial and agricultural loans, objective of maintaining and increasing its assets and qualities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Branch Staff


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates a commitment to achieve goals as a bank, department and individual
  • Answers incoming phone calls and resolves customer inquiries
  • Knowledge of commercial and agricultural lending policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of commercial and agricultural lending policies and procedures
  • Receives and reviews applications for agriculture and commercial credit
  • Analyzes financial statements and structures a loan relationship to best meet the customers’ needs and the Bank’s goals
  • Interviews commercial/agricultural loan applicants; reviews required disclosures; completes loan applications and obtains signatures.
  • Reviews business plans, tax returns, financial statements, competition, economic conditions to determine credit worthiness; prepares and presents loan proposals to Loan Committee
  • Manages assigned commercial/agricultural loan portfolio; extends credit within designated limits; approves loan extensions; assigns loan risk category; responsible for collecting on past due accounts.
  • Seek out new business and maintains an active pipeline
  • Establishes and enhances the bank’s presence in the local community
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable financial and credit regulations and best practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification of any mandatory loan officer training or licensing required
  • Working knowledge of and compliance with Bank policies, procedures and regulations

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong time value of money comprehension
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Thorough understanding of lending products and services
  • Ability to explain complicated loan policies and terms in a clear and understandable way
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Ability to handle a multitude of different situations; sometimes simultaneously

  • Knowledge of mortgage, consumer, commercial and agricultural lending policies and procedures

  • Inputs loan applications into loan software to prepare disclosures
